To dance or not to is a choice, not a commandment passed down by God.
In Biblical
times dancing was a form of celebration and entertainment. The first miracle that Jesus performed, as a man, among us was
at a wedding reception. David actually danced before the Lord.
The reasons so many ministers preach
so hard against dancing is that they know how easily it can be exploited. Most of today's dancing is vulgar,
perverted & done mostly for self gratification. Dancing in today's culture is often intended to be sexual courting
rituals like the whole bumping and grinding. When dancing is done in the proper contexts in which it was meant which is to
celebrate, there is nothing wrong with it. You can't tell me that a wedding reception or other celebratory events are
not places for dancing when it calls for it right in the book of Ecclesiastes where it clearly says that there is
a time to dance and it has it's place under the sun.
If people are choosing to not dance, that is a choice they
make on their own. They may feel it's in deference to their faith, that's ok, though that is their choice, it's
not a biblical mandate..
